iPad Pro Can you still not store iTunes movies on an external drive?

You can with the Mac but not the iPad.

No, its not possible anymore because Apple strengthened their DRM protection.

Kind of a bummer. I am away on a memorial day fishing trip right now. As a matter of bad timing my new iPad showed up at my local Apple store yesterday. Before leaving for the trip I set my device up as best I could, transferring most of the media that I wanted on my device. I didn’t have time to transfer it all however, because I needed to hit the road. Then it occurred to me that I had a number movies on an external thunderbolt drive— so I threw it in my bag with the intention of taking care of business later during some downtime.

Nope. It seems the only way to get a movie into your iPad movie library is to sync it from the TV app on the Mac That kind of sucks.
