I'm running a late-2012 iMac 27-inch (2560 x 1440). I'm allowed to expense a monitor through work, and wanted to pick up a secondary monitor. I have pretty low requirements:

  • I'm looking for something 24-27" in size
  • I want it to be able to be placed into portrait orientation (and hopefully has decent height customization).
  • Can be found in the United Kingdom --- estimated budget is in the neighbourhood of £500 or lower.
  • It would be nice if it was also future proof, if I want to upgrade my iMac or configuration in the future.

Someone suggested for me the Dell P2715Q. However, the problem is that my system is not capable of supporting 4K (see here)

I don't mind purchasing the Dell if it is future proof, but would it run at all? Or am I better off going with something lower in resolution?
