Can you? My son has an iPad with sprint and I wanted to know if I could swap the SIM card to another iPad model (back and fourth).

I believe so. I've had no issues swapping my Verizon SIM on iPad Air and newer.

Anyone else? I'd like to upgrade to a cellular 12.9 and use my sons 9.7 SIM card when needed.

While Sprint did used to lock their SIM cards to one specific device, I believe they've stopped that practice. Alas, sorry, couldn't confirm.

No issues with swapping AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon SIM cards (at least with iPad Air and newer).
