Can you turn of EDGE?

I am using the Pay As You Go plan and Edge keeps sucking down my money. I have a Jailbroken 1.1.4 iPhone. I am using the Services app and it has the option to turn of Edge, but it just pops back on and doesn't seem to work. Is there a better way or better app to do this?

I recommend the "BossPrefs" app instead.

however, it may have the same problem in some circumstances. Try it?

How can I tell if Edge is actually off. The little E icon is still in the top bar.

With BossPrefs... it shows it is off though. Can't really tell if it is off or not.

pay as you go with the iPhone? -thats a no no. depending on how much usage you do, pick up a service plan and add the $20.00 data plan. -thats give you UNLIMITED data usage and 200 text messages.

I would never do a pay as you go plan with the iPhone.
