So I really got used to the haptic feedback when locking my phone in the previous beta. Now I'm used to it and it's gone in beta 4. Is there an option to re-enable it? Or is it just gone?
I don't believe there's an option to enable it again. Hopefully it'll surface again in the next beta or by the GM release.
I hope so! It would be a bummer if we only ever had that feature for 2 weeks and it's gone lol
Or basically have it tied into the existing system that follows the vibrate/silent switch along with "vibrate on ring" and "vibrate on silent" options that apply to most other sounds/alerts.I looked and haven't been able to find it anywhere. That being said, I could easily see it as a feature that is placed in accessibility in the next few betas or have it on when the silent switch is flipped so you know when the phone is locked.
I kind of think Apple uses a tic-toc beta syestems... i've noticed that there are certain things that seem to disappear and then reappear on every other Beta... and not just with ios10...
So it's kind a like certain things that they are testing on this beta might not necessarily make it into the next beta but could be in the beta after that.. because they're probably building multiple versions of the beta at the same time
At the same time over the years it's never been like that and we've all been fine, and when it's added it seems like it can cause some confusion for various people as they wouldn't be used to it while they are using to notifications and would associate it with a notification.People were complaining the vibration made them think they got a notification. It's possible it's gone, but I'd love an option to enable it too. I loved it, made the phone feel like its really being physically locked.
Yep, and of course the other possibility...they didn't like it, and nixed it.That's generally how a lot of betas go. Things get turned off on purpose to focus test an area that saw changes, to eliminate cross contamination of bugs.
Or the turned off area got too buggy under changes made elsewhere, so it's temporarily off in a build till properly fixed.
