can anyone help me out with this task? is it the same as 2.0? using pwnage?

my friend offered to trade his 3G for my first generation iphone because he wants an iphone but doesnt want AT&T ... so he is going to use T-Mobile..

Thanks for all the help and sorry if this has already been posted.

would it be safe to downgrade to 2.0 and then use the current Pwnage tool?

or has there already been changes done that would prevent me from doing so by having 2.0.1 installed?

i don't think so yet, you can install it on there, but your installer (cydia) is gone after you upgrade from 2.0.0 when unlocked. If you unlock with 2.0.0 i think you can upgrade to 2.0.1 keeping it unlocked and activated, but no installer. Otherwise wait for a new version.

My 2.0.1 is pwned... :p

But the firmware I got has a pineapple logo, and I wanted it to be the standard apple one.

dont care for installer or cydia but just care about it being activated and unlocked... so i guess thats a yes...

going to downgrade to 2.0 then pwnage the 2.0 isw file then install the custom 2.0 which will unlock the phone then upgrade to 2.0.1

that sound like it would do what i want?
