Can you use iPad w/cable modem & dsl or only with ATT?

Hi all, anyone know if you can use the iPad w your cable modem/dsl line or is it only with the ATT data plan? Or perhaps the ATT data plan is just additive to cable modem/dsl? Thanks.

If you want to use only the wifi version, then you don't need a plan and can just run off your home wifi or anywhere you can get wifi. If you want the 3G version then AT&T offers a two cheap month-to-month plans. You aren't required to use AT&T though.
