I have a Jailbroken 1st gen iphone that i am using as an ipod touch since I upgraded to the 3G. When I used quickpwn to jailbreak it i noticed there was a button to check to unlock it. After I was done jailbreaking it i went back and just checked the unlock button but it did not unlock the phone but it didn't work. My wife has t-mobile and I want to unlock it so she can use it. Any help would be great. Thanks.

it can unlock the iphone, but make sure you put in the right boot loaders for the program to work

I used the right boot loaders but if its already jailbroken should I select to install cydia again. I just selected unlock it went through and looked ok but when I installed the t-mobile sim it didn't work. Any ideas?

I have not tried to unlock with Quickpwn my 2G phone-the pwnage tool works fine, even with 2.1-I just downloaded the boot loaders and placed everything in the same folder as the ipsw and it works fine.

I do not know if you have tried the pwnage tool, it really isn't that much more difficult to use than Quickpwn-it just takes a bit longer and wipes everything on your phone when you use it-unlike the Quickpwn.

I don't even know what the pwnage tool is. There is a quide to it on there website but its for mac only and I'm on a PC so I don't know if I can use it. The jailbreaking works fine but it still says unsupported sim detected. When unlocking should I use the at&t sim or the t-mobile sim I tried it both ways and niether worked. Not sure why.

You really DO NOT need a SIM card inserted to jailbreak or unlock-I did my 2G with no card in-then inserted my Canadian PPD (Rogers) SIM and made a phone call to make sure it worked.

I looked on the iPhone Dev Team's Blog and do not see pwnage for Windows-My suggestion would be to restore the phone to 2.1 unpwned, download the basebands (there are TWO that you need) put them in the same directory as the iPhone ipsw file and run the quickpwn again. It should find them and get the job done.

I would try it without any SIM.
