I'm in Edmonton and both our stores have been adamant that they are not getting anything but the 4 base models (2 11", 2 13").

They claim that this is Canada wide.

Any truth to this?

Also, the staffer on the phone asked me which version I wanted and I told him I wanted the base 13" with 4 GB ram. His thoughts were that it wasn't necessary at all and that 2 GB is more than enough (unless I run windows on it).

In Toronto, the apple store staff told me that the will get the 4th ram models in a few weeks. The states already have some hot spots that have them i.e. New York and LA.

I think all of Canada and the world will have them as soon as the initial rush of cto/bto calms down and is lower that their ability to pump out. They'll send the excess to the stores as stock after that.

In the meantime, anyone in Canada get their cto 4gb models yet??

Actually, the Apple Store in Yorkdale, Toronto had 4GB max of both models.
I got a 11.6" 1.6GHz, 4GB, 128GB SSD, but I returned it unopened as I didn't need all that at that price. They did also have the 13.3" 2.13GHz, 4GB, 256GB SSD. However, Fairview Mall didn't. I think the larger stores are getting them in first.

Do they have 11.6"ers with 4GB and 64GB SSD? I don't need all that storage, and if I do in the future, I'll get the 256GB aftermarket SSD board that is faster than stock.

Just called South Edmonton... they got the 11 and 13 loaded versions today.

I'm not interested, nor can afford the faster processor and/or extra storage. I've already got a base 13" on the way and I was hoping to swap it out for the 4GB version at the Apple store locally. Oh well. Might just keep the 2GB.

I just picked up a maxed out 11 inch yesterday at Pacific Centre here in Vancouver. Apparently they also had the maxed out 13 inch in stock as well. They seem to be selling pretty fast.

Yeah the 13 "Ultimate" is $500 more than the base 13"... that's a lot. But I can see a lot of people buying them.

If anybody wants to buy a max MBA at an Apple Retail store in Toronto and wants to buy my gift card off me please let me know. Or a MBA in general. The value is of the lowest model with taxes included. I want to buy a MBA online, but can't use a gift card so the value is $1,131.98... I am willing to meet you at the store when you purchase to make sure it works and I will sell it to you for $1,100. You can save a couple of bucks too and make my life easier. PM me!

We just bought two maxed out airs at Yorkdale last night: one 11.6" and one 13.3". I called twice to make sure they had 4G machines in stock, and when we arrived, the sales guy looked up on the display computer and said no, they didn't have any.

When I said I called twice and was assured they had "lots" of 4G machines, he went back and sure enough, they do. But, if you just walk in and ask a random sales guy and he logs into his sales account on the display machines, 4G machines are not listed there. He said, "How are we supposed to sell them if they don't show up as an option here?"

So Yorkdale is a good bet for having the machine you want, although like I said I got the 128 not the 64 so I can't confirm. Call first and they will absolutely check for you. Each time I called Yorkdale they were more than happy to check for me. They do in fact have lots of 4G machines, so there's a good chance they have various configurations.
