I know you are getting hounded over this. I just got my mom an iPad 3G 32GB and she was so excited to get iBooks, and then deflated to not find any of the books she wants. I saw the New York Times Best Seller tab in the store UI... Can we hope it's coming soon?

Thanks!

Ok Kewl that Steve responded!

BUT, why not install for Free the Amazon Kindle App and the Barnes and Noble app! They hardly take up any space at all! Now your Mom has access to over 1.5 million up to date books plus all the freebies!

I have a ton of stuff on my iPad. Same size as your Mom's and I still have 24 gig available!

Apple will catch up but it will take awhile and in the interim one can dam near buy any book out there now!

People there is a TON of options out there for your reading pleasure so why wait?--))) ;)

Ooops! I just reread and saw your in Canada so now IM not so sure about my suggestions! Sorry about that! Please post options availabvle from Canada so others can see the choices!

Well the first part of that question, she doesn't want any other apps. She has seen how iBooks works and is willing to wait for content there. Also, she isn't very savvy with iPhone OS yet (she has had my old iPhone for over a year and I still have to walk her through getting a visual voicemail)... so we both want it simple and in one app.

The Barnes and Noble and the Amazon Kindle app are both avail on the Canadian iTunes store. (I do not have them installed or accounts with them so I cannot discuss whether we have the same access to content or not).

Whats the bid deal about installing a few ebook apps so one can have access to a ton of books? There all decent readers and the B & N app is way kewl with a ton of features! Just saying!

Seems like suffering from a loss of choice for quite some time, until Apple seals a lot of deals when one could enjoy reading their favorite book now. Again just saying!

In any event, enjoy your iPad! Now back to all my books!--)))

Cause as I said, my it's my moms iPad, and she doesn't want a tonne of apps, (i think it confuses her).

Anyway if you other Canadians have noticed, apple has started adding some paid books to the Canadian iBookstore!
