It looks like it's a $50 surcharge for us Canadians!

Thanks for the post, I'm going to have to decide if 16gb is enough, because it's starting to look expensive. Can't wait to see how bad we get hosed on any 3g plans, eh!

I am from the UK but moving to Canada next month, so can't wait to see the accessory & more importantly data prices for Canada. I know that your carriers over there are ridiculously overpriced (pretty much the only thing we have good here in the UK compared to Canada), I hope they don't gouge too deep as I will be using my iPad to keep in contact with home.

Maybe it's just me, but I am PISSED about these prices. $779 plus tax comes up to $880. FOR THE 32 GB 3G! It's insane!

Well Jonny, if they aren't ridiculously overpriced it will be a first in Canada. I guess we can hope.

Using todays exchange rate and 32gb 3g as a benchmark
$779cdn = $746.81us Us store price is $729 so the price difference is actually about $17us, I guess that's not too bad.

I suspect I would only use the 3G capabilities when travelling, and most of the time, that would be to the US. So I wonder if it's possible to get an AT&T plan that I could use while traveling? Perhaps if I purchased the 3G on my next trip to the US, I could just use my credit card to sign up for At&T's data plan?

To get ATT service you need USA credit card with USA billing, canada travelers screwed again

The difference in the Canadian price vs the US price and the higher tax may force me to buy a 32GB rather than a 64GB :(

I don't know how I can justify paying $840 for this toy! Dammit!

Same issue here! I was planning on getting the 32 GB 3G version, but due to it's overly high price, I am going with the 64 GB Wifi instead. Also, the Canadian couriers will surely charge an arm and a leg for a crappy service. In fact, I heard somewhere that a courier is charging $30 for 500 MB on contract...but I dunno where I heard that from ;)

Oh yeah, going with 3G here in Canada will be suicide! Rogers and the rest of the gang will charge us up the a**!

Can't believe Apple is in control of my financial situation

Does anyone think that a 7-eleven sim card with $10/month unlimited data plan could work in a 3G iPad? It is supposedly 'unlocked' after all?
I'm guessing life isn't that easy though.
