Quick question for any Canadians who bought the new apple TV and have been playing with netflix.

Anyone of you can access the instant queue option from he main menu of netflix ???

Also can any of you have access to look up see what other movies actors have made ( just like when renting movies from itunes store on apple tv ... You know, when you select a movie and press down two times on the remote controller .. Wich then brings up the list of actors from the selected movie to rent ... And when you select an actor it shows you all movies he or she has made that are available on the store).

I know a lot of people say this is working for then in netflix ... But i was woundering if this is a limitation of netflix canada ,,,

Ohhh one last thing ... Anyone notice that when you select a movie to view in netflix ... I removes that movie from the genre section ... And only way to look up that movie is to do a search or see if the movie is still in the recently watch section .... Weird .. Why do they remove it from genre ??

Thanks for the help guys :)

Can't access the instant queue also...doesn't even have the choice to see it.

Can't navigate to other options like the iTunes store also.

For your last question, I don't know...will check.

Question for you : Are you able to clear the history of items you watched or started to watch ?

Glad to see i am not the only one who is missing these options on netflix ... Was scared that it was software problem ... But now it seems its just we canadians got the shaft from netflix on top of having a crapy movie selection ... :(

For your question ... This is something i havent even tried or tough of doing ... I will check that out .. Maybe that would put back the watched movies back into the genre selection .... I hope ...

You are right...Movie selection is crappy. TV shows selection is OK for me for now because there are a few ones that I'm interested to watch. So for now, 7.99$ a month is not that bad. However, considering that I haven't seen any new content in the pas couple of weeks, I hope they will refresh the selection because I don't think I will keep my subscription.

agreed, but as you said, for 7,99 a month ... im ok with it for now.
I do think that they will be adding new stuff maybe one month after their free month tryout ends ( subscriptions started on september 21 ?? ... so i give it a 2 months after the starting date before they really open the flood gates)

I did notice that they added some where to 50 new selection this week ... they just dont show up on the "Recently added" option of netflix.

Go see this RSS feed I keep watching ... it updates to show every new addition to the Canadian Netflix catalogue

feed://www.netflix.ca/NewWatchInstantlyRSS

hope this helps :)

BTW ... can you access the Kids and familly section in genre ? (or is it called children and familly ...) I keep getting an error message ... or that netflix is not available ... I only get this message in this genre ....

Thanks for the RSS link...I'll look at it.

The Children and family genre under Movies genre doesn't work...giving me the following error : Netflix is not available.

wow ... who do we contact for this issue then ....
because netflix tells me that their website is fully operational for each section ... (and they are right ... children and family section even works with my ipad application) ...

Only on apple TV for this problem ??

I found the RSS feed to be kind of useless, since it's just a huge chronological dump of movies and doesn't actually tell you when movies were added (and "New Arrivals" on the Netflix site only lists showed a random selection of movies added over the past month or two, which in the case of Netflix is, well, EVERY movie).

I was looking for a bit of a weekend project (and an excuse to play with Google App Engine), so yesterday I made http://whatsnewonnetflix.com. It should update automatically when new movies come out. Everything is under the same date right now because Netflix doesn't actually tell you when a movie came out, but everything that comes out after today should have the correct date. Right now I have it set to display the 100 newest releases. Hopefully people who have decided to stick with Netflix find it as useful as I do.

Oh, I should point out that this is only Canadian new releases. Not sure what things are like on the US side.

OK...I checked on the website and on my Wii. Both the website and the Wii works for children and family section. Doesn't work on the Apple Tv so I guess it's on Apple side. I will fill a bug report at www.apple.com/feedback

On both the Wii and Website, we do not have an instant queue so I guess that part is on Netflix side.

Holly crap !!! that website is really awesome ... Wow nice work, thx a lot :)

I found this old thread while trying to find some netflix.ca info.

Looking through the Netflix.ca site, the content on my Apple TV appears to be completely different. There is way more on the site than on the AppleTV. Does anyone know anything about this?

Edit: I found out lol. because they list all kinds of stuff on the Canadian site that is not actually available to Canadian. Boo.
