Canceling Apple Music Subscription

Nope. You didn’t buy any of that music you only rented it.
Isn’t that how they all are today? Spotify and Google Music do the same thing if I’m not mistaken.
No Spotify let’s u keep your playlists. You can’t hand pick your songs and the ads show up if you’re not a member.

There’s apps that let you transfer your Apple Music playlists to Spotify.

If/when Spotify goes public don't be surprised if the free service goes away.
I’ve been with Spotify for about a decade starting with free tier then going premium, and has never failed me, but Apple has failed me plenty of times in the music area.
It’s the year 2018, Spotify keeps a 70 million sub lead, I doubt the future of music is going backwards diminishing options, as Spotify keeps growing, the value for advertisers should grow not decrease, I don’t see how the free tier can’t be viable.
I was a Spotify user way back in the day. When I moved to Google Music there were "apps" that I found that transferred my albums over. I had to do Google because of Youtube Red... Getting all that for 5 people under their family plan (Youtube with no commercials and Google Music) was just too much to pass on. We're pretty happy with it.
I tried Apple Music but found it cumbersome and not easy to use. It isn't bad but I'd choose Spotify over it. I don't know how they'd make $ on a free tier - all that bandwidth cost and royalties to pay - I never used Spotify's free tier so I won't comment too much on it.

I used Rhapsody music back in the day, then Yahoo Music, then went to the Apple iTunes Music thing where you could upload your songs and get higher bitrate songs (this was before streaming), then went to Spotify (streaming) for years and years - was very happy with it. Then had to jump on Youtube Red's family plan when it came out.

I'm sure you're aware of the law suit, right? Spotify has yet to turn a profit since its inception. Going public is just a way to fund their operation. But investors may tell them to pay the fair price to musicians if they want their $$$
The plus side of Apple Music is that it uploads the music that’s not available in their catalogue so you can later stream it. Spotify doesn’t have that. With Spotify you have to sync all that music to your device. You can’t stream it.
I recently cancelled again too. Apple Music needs a lot of work in the playlists it recommends. Despite me liking music all the time, I get the same playlists over and over again...in the same genre too by year. It’s really lame. I like a few programs on Beats 1, but my favorite DJ, Matt Wilkenson, went mainstream and plays all this crap. Mike D’s program is good, but he doesn’t do it regularly.
After exploring the free with Prime music app, most of my daily listens are there, just not new music. So I’ll do that mixed with the WFMU app for new music and playlists. The only thing I’ll miss is music on my Apple Watch, which will probably lead me to cancelling my LTE service.

Well, if you cancel their product the playlist would be of no use. Still, easy enough to recreate and then enjoy them with ads in between. However, recreating huge lists sure;y would take some time.
