Cannot Authenticate

If I see that one more time I am going to die. I am OS 10.5.8 and
just the other day it started asking for password when I want to
get updates and now I can't. I use my login password I usually do
and it does not accept it.... any ideas???

restart the computer with your leopard CD and change the password that way

and it should have always asked for password every time you wanted to install/update
