cannot connect to internet via wifi - iphone

hi all,

i cannot connect to the internet through wifi on my iphone where my friends iphone can. i have tried a bunch of solutions that i have found kicking about on different forums like resetting/hard resets/reboots/resetting network settings among others.
i also had the error command in itunes that it cannot read the contents of the iphone - i dunno if thats related or not but i managed to solve that 1.

i had it jailbroken with no problems for ages working until i had this problem. has been like it for a few days now and dont recall the time of it stopping. i cannot access the internet through any application be it appstore, safari, cydia etc. so i decided to restore my iphone hoping thatd give me a solution but again i have still no access.

my situation atm is that i have just re-jailbroken my iphone on 3.0.1 and working fine except for internet access.

Might I recommend something I see you haven't done. Restore your iPhone to factory settings. Then when putting your information back, just set it up as new. That way any confusing or conflicting settings won't sync back and mess it up.

Remember to sync before you restore.

thanks for the reply. tried that with no luck :/

something i forgot to mention is that my internet and routers are supplied to me as im in rented accommodation and internet is supplied to the building therfore i have no access to management and setup of this.... which doesnt help

anyone have any other ideas?
