Ever since I upgraded to Yosemite I can no longer create New Folders on my Desktop and cannot move Folders from an existing folder to the Desktop, I tried doing most of the usual procedures but no result.

I can't even move a file from an existing folder onto the Desktop..I need help, a bit annoying..

Downloaded from the App Store, not sure what you mean by repair permissions..

Run Disk Utility and run "Repair Permissions" on the HDD. It maybe you have mis-set permissions somewhere preventing you from creating on the desktop.
