Hi,

I am having some trouble deleting files from trash. Whenever I install an application on Mac and then i delete the particular (.dmg) file, I get an error message such as

"The operation can't be completed because the item (.dmg package file) is in use"

When I check the finder window, the file would have been ejected and its no longer mounted on Mac.

Please help. Thank you.

Do you drag the applications icon to your applications folder on your mac?

There is a handy guide here explaining how installing should be done.

Yes. I drag them to the App folder. But there is another thing to mention. I use TotalFinder application. It may be that the latest update is affected with a bug.

I have contacted the developer and hopefully a fix arrives soon.

Found the mistake I made

I have found my mistake. I didn't check the Devices box in the Finder preference.
There are no bugs in the update--its my error.

I apologise if there are any inconveniences that I may have caused.
