I am on public beta 11 (15A372) and when I open maps I see the list of places I've been to but when I try to delete them (swiping right, clicking Remove) they will not go away. They'll go away for a second but reappear...I hate having the maps history so this is really bothering me...anybody else experiencing this?

Work for me...for the most part....every once and a while, I delete and it pops right back up. But swipre LEFT again and hit remove and it goes away. Maybe just a glitch. report it.

I'm having the exact same problem on my 6s and reported the issue to Apple via the Feedback Assistent. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

I find if they are in frequent locations you can't get rid of them. One of the things I hate - you can't get rid of them and only can get rid of frequent locations if you delete them all you can't delete 1 of them.

Same issue here... I've tried everything. I even tried to speak to an Apple Support representative but she clearly didn't know what I was talking about.

Do you have multiple devices and then maybe being re synced from another device. I had this with a couple of places but recently they went away

Yeah, I have other devices. I also thought of that possibility so I disconnected them from iCloud and tried to delete the address from my iPhone (still connected to iCloud). No luck.

Best I've been able to do is to turn off iCloud for Maps only. That keeps the Recent list empty. And does not interfere with sending an address from Mac/iPad to my phone.

Psst ... she knows where you've BEEEN, ;)

J/K ... curious if disabling location settings for ALL or just Maps would help?

This is kind of a dead thread but I have begun experiencing this same problem on my iPhone and iPad. It is incredibly aggravating to have the same searches just keep appearing after I have deleted them dozens of times. Any new information on this bug?

This is some weird iCloud issue. It was resolved for me with the 11.2.5 release. Although every now and then one will pop back up after a restart or if I’ve force quit Maps. Prior to 2.5 I could only delete a couple before they started reappearing in my list as I was deleting others. These issues seem to be fixed in one release and pop back up in another, affecting users randomly. Seems to be a hallmark of iOS 11.

Having a similar issue. I work in a place that has a few different locations listed for that address. Everytime I get in my car it displays drive time info to the correct address but the incorrect location. I even added a new location name which apple updated on the maps app and I added it to not only my address book as work but also labeled it as work on the maps app. But the drive time indicator still shows the old labeled location. As the default destination and if I try to delete it from the recent history, I can only share it not delete it. How can I reassign the default drive time indicator to the correct one.

This might have been fixed for real on 11.3. Just updated the phone and cleared out the history: the old history has not returned. Have been checking every few minutes and recents is still clear with iCloud > Maps on.

I have Significant Locations disabled in privacy settings (because I dislike the location tracking required) but I still have to delete Maps history items twice.

Just one of those annoying little bugs that makes iOS seem unpolished, but far from the biggest complaint I have with it.

Significant location data =/= history data.
