I have extensively Googled this issue and cannot seem to find an answer.

Most websites tell me to go into Preferences > Advanced > Click on "show Develop menu in menu bar > Develop tab in menu bar > enable extensions.

Well, "enable extensions" doesn't show up in Develop anymore.

So, I go to Preferences > Extensions -- there is an on and off slider. The slider will not go to the ON position.

Please help!

There is no on and off slider for me. If you want to show develop tab in menu bar its easy. There is only a checkmark, and to enable safari extensions go to safari menu bar and click pref and go to extensions, it takes a couple of seconds to move the slider. But it seems like a bigger problem

I have done the checkmark -- I can Google the solution to pretty much any computer issue; this one stumps me.

Should turn on, assuming that you have any extensions installed.
If you don't have any extensions installed yet, then the slider won't turn on - until you click the "Get Extensions" button, and install an extension or two.

I tried that angle as well.

When I try to download an extension, Safari gives me this message.

"Safari can’t install this extension because Extensions are disabled."

I can't seem to enable the extensions (thus my reason for asking this question)

----------

If you do have extensions downloaded, what do you have.

I see some extensions downloaded when I do a bit of pecking around, but I cannot download extensions or plug-ins from the Apple website.

As a test, i deleted all my extensions and disabled the extensions and then quitted safari and reloaded and it let me turn it back on. Maybe just try a simple restart of the computer?

Hmm, I may try that.

I'm going to bed right now, but I will try it in the morning. I will let you know if it works.
