in Safari 6.

It makes all of my code snippets or quoted text in gmail appear in this absolutely horrid and tiny font.

Can anyone tell me which font would typically be used for the code snippets in safari? IIRC it's something like courier but I'm not seeing any issues with that font in my linotype font explorer.

I'm not particularly interested in using a custom CSS sheet to fix this issue but I will if necessary.

Why do you insist on using fonts that nobody ever heard tell of much less have installed. Use standard fonts that people everyone who owns a Mac or Windows are likely to have installed.

I haven't mentioned any fonts - lynotype explorer is a commonly used font management app. Thanks for the input anyway...

This Linotype FontExplorer X Pro licensee of several years now is well aware of the utility. It may have been useful if you had made mention of FontExplorer X in your OP. But you did not. Neither did your screenshot have anything to do with FontExplorer X. I was responding to the fact that you were using Liberation fonts. These are Linux fonts. I have no idea whether they are the source of your problems or not. But, you are using a Mac that comes bundled with a wide array of standard fonts. There is no need for you to use Linux clones of these fonts.

Let me paraphrase my original question for you.

I am having trouble with fonts being substituted in Safari - I wish to know what font would typically be used for code snippets so that I can check in linotype font explorer (not Pro btw) and see whether there is a duplicate or substitution.

Thank you for partially answering my question instead of trolling.

I don't have Safari 6 as I'm using Snow Leopard with Safari 5.1.7 and the font for Fixed Width is Courier, my size is 13 but I'm not sure if that's the default size or I increased it.

Thanks - that was it. I checked in font book and lintype fontexplorer and there was some duplicate courier fonts in there. Deleted the dupes and we are back in business.
