I would appreciate any assistance any of you might be willing to offer....when I hook up my little Kodak Z740 camera to my Mac Mini and attempt to import photos to iPhoto, the import stops, and I get an error message telling me that the import cannot proceed due to an existing import with the incorrect extension.

The "last imported" photo is a .jpg photo that otherwise behaves correctly. How do I get iPhoto to accept my attempted import?

Any constructive comments/suggestions or help greatly welcomed and appreciated.

Did I mention that this is my first Mac?

Many thanks,:)

And your Mini Is a?

2011, 2010, 2009???
If it's a 2011, remove the SD card from your camera and stick it in that nifty SD slot Apple installed on the rear of the Mini. If it still fails, you may have a corrupted jpeg. Has this happened before? If not, then the case for bad jpeg gets stronger...but your card could have issues, too.

Cannot figure out how to upload photos to iPh...etc.

Thanks much, Rich-from-the-home-of-Kodak! It's a 2011, and using the SD card worked (as I'm sure you knew it would! Ha!) Man, sometimes a new & different unit can make one feel pretty dumb!

The .jpg photo is still in iPhoto also. I have to suppose (or hope) that it will not cause any more problems. It's a photo that came as an email attachment, so it's still in the email also, should I ever need or want to delete the one in iPhoto.

Thanks a mil for your timely and helpful response!:)
