Hi everyone,

I only just bought Company of Heroes from Gamersgate. Yeah, the first one, I'm a tad late getting on board! I know the game was supposed to be single-player only, but I had also read the skirmish mode was finally implemented by Aspyr. However, I don't seem to have the option, and I cannot find anywhere to download a patch, if indeed there is one...

Would anyone know how to proceed from here?

You might want to return it if possible and buy it on the Mac App Store instead to get the latest version which includes the skirmish mode addition to the game. Last I knew late last year Aspyr had only released the latest version with skirmish on the Mac App Store and were too busy with other projects to update any other versions at that time. I don't know if that has changed since then. You could contact Aspyr support to ask about this also.

See this thread for the discussion I mentioned about the skirmish release only on MAS:

Thanks a lot for the info. That's... Well, fairly bad from Aspyr. Guess I will go see them first, it would be rather unfair to blame Gamersgate for this situation.

Thanks again.

Well, Aspyr did respond: they asked me for a proof of purchase, and once that was out of the way, they just send me a token to redeem the full game on the Mac App Store... Problem solved, and rather quickly at that. Except for the fact I live in a country with very poor internet. It had taken me 5 days to download the game the first time around! :)

It's still a bit strange. It seems Aspyr never got around releasing any patches for the other retail versions. I also asked them for the manual of the game (for the Mac version, so I would get the proper key mappings!), and they just send me a link to the PC manual and told me that was all they had. If you add to all that the fact multiplayer never got implemented, it really looks like this game got very little love in the conversion...

Anyhows, all is well that ends well.

I'm glad to hear they took good care of you with a free MAS version so you can enjoy the skirmish battles.
