Cannot get access gmail on Mail after Archive & Install

I had to run an Archive and Install on my ibook, and since then, I can't seem to get my gmail messages POP-forwarded to Mail. I've deleted the account and added it again, but it still won't receive or send gmail messages. The same happens with Entourage. Entourage periodically says, "Security failure. Data encryption error."

UPDATE: I've managed to download the messages, but now I can only send messages from the mail client, but not receive them.

Any ideas?
