Hi all,

Right i've been trying for over a month now to get my apple TV to work with my new LG TV and was hoping someone here could shed some light on what im doing wrong.

The TV in question is a 32LG3000 that has 3x HDMI ports.etc

Now when I plug the ATV via componant - works absolutely fine.

When I plug the ATV via HDMI - i get the apple logo and then when it goes to start the intro movie / menu - nothing. The TV flashes 'no signal'.

I've tried it on loads of diferent resolutions in both I(nterlaced) and P(rogresive) and nothing helps.

I've tested the HDMI cable and tried other leads - no help.

To check the HDMI port on the Apple TV, I've plugged it into a monitor via HDMI -> DVI and it worked fine, and plugged the Apple TV into a friends Plasma TV (panasonic, HDMI -> HDMI) - which again worked fine.

To work around the issue (as I read up about testing it with a computer connection), I plugged my mac mini into the HDMI port (via a DVI -> HDMI cable), and it worked fine.

I've just run a factory restore on the Apple TV - and still no joy.

Anyone ever come accross this/ possibly know a solution?

I have the same TV and didn't have a problem, but a friend with that TV had faulty HDMI ports and LG replaced the TV.

Have you tried hooking anything else (cable box, PS3, Blue Ray) up to the TV with an HDMI cable and has it worked? Have you tried all three different ports? I would give LG a call if you've really tried everything and you're still not having any luck. Their customer service is pretty good and they may be able to assist you further.

Hi there,

Thanks for the fast reply!

And yeah, I've tried it [Apple TV] on all 3 ports with no luck - its literally only the Componant that works.

I've only got one other device going into that box via HDMI - which is an Xbox 360.

It runs fine on any port - its just the Apple TV thats a pain.

Out of interest - what resolution is your Apple TV set to on the TV? i'll give it one last shot at your resolution and if I cant get it to work at that
