I migrated and now I can only get my mac.com emails only from OS 10.7, and iOS devices.

I set up the imap carefully following these indications http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/icloudmail.html

but still I cannot get Apple Mail on 10.6, and other devices, such ad the HP Pre 3, to talk to imap.mail.me.com

When I migrated I choose to keep my old mac.com id, however even using the me.com one I still cannot get emails.

Any workaround?

Ben

Incoming server (IMAP) doesn't seem right to me in that

it should be something like

p04-imap.mail.me.com

the p04 can vary, the number changes for different people

check mail preferences on your Lion machine to see what the server is

In my Lion Mac it is p99-imap etc... but on SL it did not work

but then this recent update on the famous Apple support KB article HT 5330 changed again the rules...

just noticed your other topic about that

I have not tried it recently (last few months), but when I was setting up my non apple devices I could only get it to work with the pxx-imap… server name
the basic imap.mail.me.com worked fine on any apple device for me but not on non apple devices

I have just set up an HP Pre 3 (nice thing with no support at all from nobody...) with the servers indicated in the apple kb ht 5330, who knows? I am prtty sure that something has been changed by apple because those where the old settings for the Pre and it stopped working on July 1st...

I forgot, the Palm Pre works using the old mail.me.com for incoming and the new iCloud server (smtp.mail.me.com) for sending, pretty weird isn't it?
