I have a Macbook Pro with OS 10.6.3.
The problem I have s the question above.
Actions taken so far:

I tried to rebuild the library - failed
i tried to locate the library in a different location (hd and external) - failed
I erased the library and started from scratch - failed
I re-installed the application - failed

Error messages:

When I try to import a .JPG it says that the format is unrecognizable.
Please note that all the other apps (color sync, preview, safari) have no problems in opening the files.

Any ideas??

Regards,

ML

Are the photos from a camera or scanned? Were you able to import before?

Yes there are from a camera, and yes it was working before. Have no idea why it stopped working.

1. You can try repairing permissions.
2. You can delete the iPhoto pref file

Macintosh HD > Users > [Username] > Library > Preferences > com.apple.iPhoto.plist

Delete the iPhoto.plist. The next time you run iPhoto it will create a new one.
