So I am trying to jailbreak my iPhone 3G with 2.2 through QuickPwn.
The problem is with the reboot at the end. The first time I tried to jailbreak it a several hours ago, the reboot took over 3 hours. After the 3 hours, it was still rebooting, I took it and did a hard reset, that didn't work. It just rebooted it again. I waited about 10 minutes and nothing happened. So I tried to connect it to iTunes which it wasn't being recognized by. Sometimes it would say an unknown error occurred and that's why it could detect the iPhone. The wierd thing is that iPhoto pops up with all my photos on the iPhone and says David's iPhone under devices. It doesn't show as an iPhone though, just as a digital camera.
The second time, I am still waiting right now, started about 1 hour ago. I had to do the power off, hold home button, connect to iTunes thing. That worked and is a great last resort thing. There is no emergency call option, FYI. I restored it from recovery mode and tried the jailbreak again. Once again, I am waiting for a reboot after the jailbreak process went perfect (it seems). iPhoto still pops up with my photos and iTunes still displays unknown error messages. Now, it reboots, vibrates twice like it has booted and displays a white screen for a split second, then goes back to reboot. All I am looking at is an Apple logo on my iPhone right now and I expected to have a jailbroken iPhone hours ago. I have jailbroke my old iPhone 2G before and it was really easy with QuickPwn. I figured I should do it to my 3G and thought the process would be once again, easy. I have read that having many apps on your iPhone can hang up the reboot process after a jailbreak and I know that apps make an iPhone load longer but not 3 hours long. I really want to jailbreak my iPhone and will downgrade to 2.1 if necessary. I don't really like 2.2 anyways. Thing is, I don't know how to downgrade if it is even possible. I assume the firmware is still saved on the hard drive so I think it would be possible. Right?
Thanks it advanced for any help!!
