Hey guys, just wondering if anyone can help me.

I have a MBP, 2.4ghz Santa Rosa w/ nVidia 8600M GT graphics card, Boot camp 1.3 and Win XP SP2. I have my laptop hooked up my 22" Viewsonic LCD monitor. I cannot launch any games when setup like this. The games launch and then bomb straight back to the desktop with a variety of errors depending on the game. The games run fine once I revert back to the laptop as the primary display. I've tried every setting through the nVidia control panel, single display, clone (same display on each screen), even independent displays and I can't launch a game. I also have a 20" Gateway LCD monitor and the same thing happens when I hook that up so I know it's not my monitor. Both LCD's are widescreen like the MBP.

Does anyone have any ideas what else I can try or do to fix this? I read where other people are running games fine on external displays so I'm feeling like I have a setting wrong somewhere. I've gone in and tried changing every setting I can find in the nVidia control panel (one at a time) to try and get it to work. I'll upgrade to boot camp 1.4 tonight but I'm not holding out too much hope that it will fix my issue.

Thanks.

Same here man.

I'm killing myself on just trying to get the Primary Display on my external LCD.

Have you opened the nvidia control panel (right click on the desktop and it should be in the middle of the menu)?

If not, do so and change the monitor configuration to single display only and select the external monitor.

Works perfectly for me, they only issue is I must do this every time I boot to Windows. It will not stick.

Cheers,

Yea, but it kills my lappy LCD.

I want what it normally looks like; but just my external as the primary monitor. Apparently its impossible :(

Ahhh, that is a trade off, true I have never been able to make the external monitor the primary under bootcamp, whether in XP or Vista. This was the same on my Macbook as well as my current MBP SR 2.2

Must be some weird Windows thing.
