Sorry to post over something which may well be idiotic - if it is, I'll be delighted to receive an idiot proof response and rescue.
Shortly after the recent iPod update, I bought an iPod classic (80GB) and tonight attempted to set it up. I already have iTunes installed, for my trusty 30GB 5g which is now over two years of age, and beginning to show it.
Unfortunately, the "steps" to register the thing are too large for the iTunes screen and I cannot see the relevant arrow/button to press. None of the screen re-sizings have helped, as it is still out of sight and reach. I'd be grateful for advice on how to register it and synch my collection as I shall be travelling abroad for quite a while very soon.
The maddening thing is that I never had any trouble with Windows and iPods. I thought Apple and its siblings simply "worked". When I connect the 80 GB to iTunes, it says "welcome to your new iPod - let's get started - 1 register your iPod" but as the screen containing this will not adjust - I cannot see the button to press as it is outside of the screen, and "offstage" so to speak. Any advice or suggestions are gratefully received.
I've cracked it; you learn something new everyday. Those strange tiny diagonal lines at the bottom right hand corner enlarge that particular "window"; well, I hadn't known that, good that I do now. Ok, mods, if you wish you can close this thread.
Cheers and thanks
