Hey!

I have the harddisk of my old 2010 Macbook Pro and if I connect it with any other macbook I can boot the mac from that external device while holding 'alt' while starting the machine.. guess you know that. But I have got my new Macbook Pro Retina and it shows me just a restriction sign when I want to boot the retina machine from the external old macbook pro hdd.

What can I do to start it anyways?

thanks

The Retina runs a special version (build) of Mountain Lion that you do not have on the Pro... so it won't work.
