I have always liked to set Auto-Lock my iPhone 12 Pro Max to Never. Then,, when I have finished whatever I am doing on the iPhone, I lock the screen manually. When I want to re-use the iPhone, I pick it up and face the screen. FaceId at once unlocks the screen. Not any more, though. Probably since updating iOS, FaceID has somehow become disabled. If I forget that, and lock the screen, I must enter the passcode, which is an infernal nuisance. When I try to Set/Reset FaceID, my face is shown inside a rectangular frame, but the circle within which to move my head so as to enable FaceID never appears. What am I doing wrong ?
