For some reason, I cannot SSH to my iPhone when I'm on my uni's wifi network. There's no other connection, so I would desperately like to learn how to get around this. I just moved into my dorm a couple days ago.

I'm on an 8GB iPhone 2G and a Macbook.

That's what my friend and I came up with. Is there anyway to work around that?

Can anybody help me with how to SSH into my iPhone using a different port than 22?

If i remember correctly, you need to edit /etc/services and change the port number for sshd service. Save the file, not sure if you need to restart the whole phone or just sshd service.

Hope that would help.

You may have to wait until you connected to a wifi where you port 22 is not blocked. The lack of ESC key will make editing via Mobile Terminal impossible (unless you want to change it to other 2 digit port number 01-99).

How can I edit the file if I can't get into the phone?
