Hello all,
I am currently running the latest beta on my iPhone, and my iPad. The iPad has acted fine throughout with syncing and such, but my iPhone has not. It will not get past the third step of ‘determining which apps to sync’ and then it will quit with the un-authorized message. I am a family organizer, if that makes any difference here, also.
Here are some steps I have already tried:
  • I have tried to authorize, and de-authorize in iTunes via the Account menu, but to no avail, it just says that I am still authorized when I login with my credentials.
  • I have also tried to delete the SCInfo file, which I found on the Apple Support pages. That also did not help the problem, and it still persists.
Here is the message I get when I am attempting to sync:

Any and all help with this would be greatly appreciated!

Do all apps are purchased under your account? I am fine with syncing but I don't use family share.

Somewhat, since I am the family organizer, I am billed for all the apps. But any apps that the family member makes is attributed to their ID, charged to mine, but shared around the whole family.
So yes, my friend Charlie, whom I am family sharing with ‘purchased’ Dark Sky, but I have never needed to have his authorization on my iMac nor iPhone in order to be able to use the shared family apps.
It named 3 trouble apps in the first warning about being unauthorized, then it was the same vague one every time since.

If those apps are free, what about buying it again under your account? This may solve the problem, at least, temporarily.

I don’t need to ‘buy’ it again, it is just as if I purchased it with the little cloud icon next to it in the app store. I have most of them installed already and they update just fine when they ask for my Apple ID in the App Store. I thank you for the help @Shirasaki but I do not think this is the solution to the issue. Especially since “text Grabber” was one of the apps listed in the error message at first, and that app has only ever been purchased and downloaded by my Apple ID, no one else.

I feel like the solution is going to lie more in the iTunes side of things, like there is a folder that store this information (SCInfo, etc), a plist, or something that I could remove and have it reset on rebooting. I think that is the hold-up and the solution but I am unsure of what files in the OS/App that I am referring to.

Hmm, I also have no idea which file it might be. If i were you I would spend a whole night importing all contents back after creating a new iTunes library file.

Thats like saying: lets nuke them... when diplomacy easily could be used. I will wait and hope someone else can offer insight.
Well, what apple often suggests user to do when they have zero clue of issue is to nuke everything. And start over.
Anyway, I am also waiting. Knowing more about family sharing is not a bad idea after all.
