Hey guys, i did a little searching but i cannot find anything specific, if you guy can point in to a thread that answers this that would be awesome

i have a late 2013 macbook pro retina 15 with the 750m

anyways, i cannot unlock the little lock in the security & privacy tab. when i press the little lock to unlock it, i am asked to input my password (i don't have one so i just press enter)

after that it will unlock and then immediately lock itself again. anyone know what to do?

also the graphics are awful when using the integrated card. i mean when i press the mission control button, its so choppy.

thank for the help guys.

You have discovered that you can't do certain tasks that require a non-blank password for your admin account (a blank password is not acceptable for those tasks)
If you need to do those things, (and you may find that you need both security and privacy :D ) then provide your user account with a real password. It can be something short and simple - but it needs to be something other than blank.
Just a reminder - Once you add a password, then later decide that you don't want a password, there's no simple way to return to a blank password for that account.

Come back if you can't even add a password (I don't think you will be able to unlock the Users & Groups pref pane to do a "Change Password" )

A few weeks back I've discovered this same thing. What I found that fixes it and allows you to unlock privacy and security settings is to go into user settings, change password and set it to iCloud password. You will then be able to unlock. Once you've made any settings changes you need, go back into user and change password again and use the "other password" option and make it blank again.
