I have a 2017 12” rMB that came with Mojave. I wanted to upgrade to Monterey but every time I try to install it, it fully “downloads” in terms of file size, but the progress bar gets “stuck” near the end and the download never completes. I even re-downloaded the Monterey in Safe Mode through the App Store and ran into the exact same issue.

My next step is likely to reinstall Mojave from Recovery and try a third time.

Are there any other known workarounds for this?

I reinstalled Mojave from internet recovery and updated to Monterey. 2018 mini. I did this on purpose to minimize monterey issues. Worked great.

My 2017 iMac did this (Mojave to Monterey) without a problem. I’d suggest a call to Apple support in your case. With the amount of free space you have it should download and work properly. Even out of warranty, Apple has been pretty charitable in telephone support for something like this and doing it without charge. Or book a genius session at a local Apple store if convenient to you.
