I am thinking about replacing my Epson all in one at home with a Canon system. I am looking at the Pixma MP780 but am wonding what the quality of the Mac software is. Does anyone have any experience with Canon printer software in general and specifically software included with the Pixma MP700 line?

It goes out of date quick with new OS releases, and they are slow to replace it.

That said, my new Pixma iP4000R works like a charm, as does the software.

Yeah.

I have an iP4000 and it works quite nicely, although the bundled CD printing software was very average - I bought disclabel instead.

I've never really had problems with Canon printer software (on my 5th - still have them all, connected to both OSX and Windows), but did have problems with Epson software on Windows.

Some people have had problems when trying to use a Canon printer that is connected to another Mac or PC - not all Canon printers (& software) are able to do that, although they seem to work ok when connected to an Airport Express. I'm not sure of all the details (because I have no need to do that) but there are other threads that discuss it.

The easy photo print works really well. Unfortunately the easy web print is not available for mac since it integrates into IE. I have both the ip4000 and ip5000 and also rep for canon in a CompUSA so I have used every canon printer with my laptop and have not yet had a problem demo'ing anything to a customer. Im quite happy with the software.

I've got an older Canon printer, my dad has a newer one, and my brother has a new Pixma, and in all cases Canon's drivers have been quite good. Can't say anthing about their bundled goodies, but I've never once had an issue printing anything.

I cannot say the same for Epson or HP printers I've set up for others.
