Upon getting my 70D gear ready for selling occurred to me I need a new remote shutter / flash trigger , similar to the Yongno I’ve used many times.

Anyone here use / have this JJC?
Seems perfect one for me, $34
I’ve got the 580EXII speedlite.
TIA for feedback,
Mike R

Have you tried going to dpreview.com and visiting the Canon R forum there?

well I was hoping some other R5 / R6 user in our cozy forum could chime in, and no I did not, as I'm not a member of dpreview ....

Have you looked into if it's possible to just get an alternative cord? In my experience the cords that come with the trigger can be replaced with other ones. Canon has two different standards for remote trigger cords, one TRS-type (usually designated with N1) for the lower-level cameras, and another more shaped one (usually designated N3) for the professional line.

This one is the best for all brands:

And this is a eBook that will help you quite a lot understanding the EOS R5. There is nothing else out there that compares to this instruction manual. It is full of colorful and clear illustrations and photos, and the updates are free. For example, I purchased and downloaded the EOS R6 eBook, and so far the free updates has covered the two EOS R6 firmware updates. When you read the table of contents and find a subject you want to understand, you won't have to scroll down to the page number. All you have to do is to "click" on the subject (each subject is a link). If you want to have the eBook with you, instead of the laptop at home, it is best to download it to your iPad or iPhone.

Ha, yea POTN is a great forum - thx, I’ve hung out in Astro and others since 2010.
Purchased the ebook, it’s downloaded into my cloud.
Thx again.

Are you planning on remote triggering flashes too (which the product you initially linked seems mostly designed for)? If not, the Canon bluetooth remote is the best option. It's very slightly more than the one you were looking at ($40 right now), and has been flawless for me. Plus no additional hardware you need to plug into the camera (which means it stays weather sealed). And it's worked on every recent Canon, so presumably if you ever upgrade again in the future you can keep using the same remote.

Update 2/18:
I’m keeping this!
It works fine, suits my needs:
-remotely located flash trigger
-group shots remote , small handheld is more discrete than using smartphone app
-long exposure trigger
