Dear all,

I have managed to set up 3 partitions: OS X, fat32 (for data) and NTFS for XP (in this order since XP needs to be the last partition).
the idea was that I put all data on the fat32 partition so that i can access it from both worlds.
here the situation:
- i can access the fat32 partition from the mac side
- when i boot up with XP i can also access the fat32 partition
- I use also VMWare fusion. When i start the 'bootcamp partition' the fat32 partition is not available anymore ?!? only the C: partitions turns up.

any idea?
thanks
Dietmar

you might have to tell windows to recognize it...by clicking on the icons at the bottom right hand corner...i think only one OS can recognize something at a given time...

in the vmware window, there are icons at the bottom right indicating which components are connected. like the DVD drive...you have to click on the icon and tell it to be recognized by vmware windows.

Thanks for idea. the icons down in VMware only connect hard disks, not partitions. and of course all the USB and Bluetooth devices.
Even if I unmount the drive before I start VMware, makes no difference.

the windows drive management says that the drive is healthy but unallocated.
as I said, if I boot up with windows, everything is fine.

any other suggestions please?

thanks
