All Devices Can't Add Line Breaks in Numbered Lists in Notes

I have a numbered list in Apple Notes. I want a line break after each numbered section, but I can't figure out how to do it without Notes automatically adding in a number between the gap. Any suggestions?

Same as nearly all word processing programs. Press shift and return at the same time.
