My goal is to get a working windows OS so I can get back into counterstrike (It's the one thing I've missed since switching to mac).

I installed windows on my brother's MBP without too much of an issue. All I did was put the MBP in target disk mode, and used my macbook's disk utilities to handle the partitioning and formatting.

I'd like to try something similar with mine, except I don't have room to spare on my internal hard drive. I had heard/read that its possible to boot to windows on an external firewire drive, so I figured I'd go that route.

The only problem, my drive doesn't show up when I hold down option. I've tried everything I did with my brother's MBP: MS-DOS(fat) with Master Boot File Partition map (I even tried GUID) but the darn thing won't show up.

It's a Maxtor one touch 200gb drive, and I'm using a 13inch MB with Leopard.

This brings me to my question:

What can I do to make this drive show up (I should be able to install windows from there) or

Is there another way to install and boot to this external drive?

Many Thanks.
