Hi

Hope you can help, I have spent a week on this, and i am getting closer.

I can't remember my pwd for my MacBook Pro, as i haven't used it for well over a year since I bought it.
As the screen was cracked i store dit away, but now i don't have any mac in the house and life isn't the same!

Spec:
MacBook pro snow leopard installed on it, it’s around 2014/15 I believe.

I tried the following:

Recovery mode, but the mac doesn’t have a recovery partition!

I then created a bootable USB, which does boot, using the option key when I power on.

But I get the black screen with error: you need to restart your computer. Hold down the power button until it turns off. Then press the power button again.

How I created my bootable USB:

* reset my pram

I created a bootable USB as follows:

a. formatted USB in transmac for mac

b. under dos/cmd I did the following:

start menu> run>cmd> diskpart

DISKPART> list disk

(Find the disk number)

DISKPART> select disk 2

Disk 2 is now the selected disk.

DISKPART> clean

DiskPart succeeded in cleaning the disk.

DISKPART> convert gpt

DiskPart successfully converted the selected disk to GPT format.

DISKPART> create partition primary

c. I then downloaded snow leopard from:

https://archive.org/details/SnowLeopardInstall

d. transmac > restore with disk image

********

To make sure the hard disk is ok, I booted as normal and I can get to the login screen,

As I am a programmer and a techi I Have spent 1 week on it and it’s driving me nutz now, but I am not giving up, I am close now. lol

Thanks in advance,

Kind Regards

Jami
