I created a new encrypted disk image using Disk Utility. All well and good. Next time I mounted it I considered changing its password but "Change Password" is greyed out in the Disk Utility File menu. Why are we not allowed to change the password or is there another way it should be done? Thanks.

I haven’t tried this, but removing the password and then creating a new one would seem like a workaround.

It appears that a de-encrypt option is also not available, either in Disk Utility or by right-clicking.

Thanks. Any idea why Apple does not allow change of password as in the past? The average user would not know to use the terminal command.
As this issue affects High Sierra, Mojave, Catalina and you are the first to notice it, I guess not many people use this feature and Apple ignores it. :)
