I have an iPhone 6s with iOS 9.0.2. I have noticed within the past week or so that when I connect my phone to my car charger, the charging light on the adapter goes on and off. First thought was that the adapter had finally died, so I tried a different adapter. Same problem. I tried charging directly from a USB port in the car and received the message "Unsupported device". I tried again with a different cable and still get the same message. So in summary, I have tried multiple charging ports (2 "lighter" style ports with two different adapters), and 2 USBs - 1 is for charging and the other is in the stereo for streaming. In all cases, my 6s is an Unsupported Device.

Anyone else have this issue, and what is the solution? I'm getting ready for a road trip and would really like to have my music, as well as keeping my phone charged.

Thanks.

do you only have one outlet? have you tried restarting your iPhone and does any other device or iDevice charge with the same ports?

Hi, I've restarted my phone several times. I have multiple USB ports and lighter-style ports. I am getting the same error on the car's screen with all combinations. I'll be trying my iPod on the same configurations later today. I did not have this problem when I first got my 6s, nor did I have it with my iPhone 6, which is why I'm thinking it is iOS 9 related.

This is the same thing that is going on with my iPhone 6s Plus. It used to work, now just within a week or two it stopped charging. But I went to get my wife's iPhone 6s Plus and hers DOES CHARGE. I went to get my son's iPhone 6 and it DOES CHARGE. But mine is a no go. I called Apple, They had me do a Full Hardware reboot holding down home and sleep for many seconds until the apple logo appears and still no go. I did a back up and restored the phone as Brand New. Still No Go. I now have a Appt at the Genius Bar to see what the heck is going on. So I am in the same boat as you are refslady.
