I updated my MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016) to macOS Monterey 12.7. Since the update I can't collaborate using Number. I was able to do it before. Now when I open a Number's file which I have shared in iCloud a message shows saying: To collaborate, you'll need to use Numbers on iCloud.com or Number on a newer Mac". I have tested connecting with other networks with the same result.

Has Apple disable iCloud Collaboration in "old macs"? This feature was working before without a problem.

I'm having the same issue, also after an update. Is this Apple trying to force me to buy something newer than my 2015 Macbook Pro, or is there a fix for this?

Ah, Apple, the "environmentally responsible," "you can trust us" computer company has learned the benefits of ransomware from the Russian mob/government hackers. For a mere $2,000, you can throw away your perfectly good, working computer and buy a new MacBook just so you can continue to work on your own documents that were fine a week ago, then go through this all over again in a few years. What's a little more e-waste sprinkled on the heads of poor children in Bangladesh or coal and diesel smoke belched into the air when we can pretend to be saving the world by producing more and more of the very things that are destroying it? Yay, Apple! Joke's on us!

BTW, you can buy (not subscribe to) a copy of MS Excel for noncommercial use for $80, and I'm pretty sure you can collaborate on your spreadsheets again with other Excel users, using a far superior spreadsheet program...until MS screws you over like Apple.
