I have been getting some error messages when I turn on my iphone 3g, both with version 3.0 and 3.1 that says can't connect to cellular data network and also about half the time it is unable to connect to my email account on ntlworld. This happens both when using 3g or wifi. Eventually, the emails show up if I try again later on, so the fault isn't permanent, but I don't really know what the cellular data network thing is about or what is using it, so I can't tell if it ever does work.
I'm not a heavy phone user and am not very familiar with what cellular data is about.
Can anyone please advise on what I might do to avoid getting these error messages and get more reliable email connections?
Maybe I need to set some options in settings differently?
I am on a pay as you go with O2 and I do recall that earlier in the year I got some message from them pertaining to setting some info for cellular data, but I don't recall what it was for. I did follow their directions at the time and the cellular data is set to something called idata.o2.co.uk and the user name and password are some odd names that I didn't choose myself.
