Can't connect to airport or hotel networks - hopeless. What to do ?

It is really frustrating (Macbook Air M1) - almost whenever I want to connect to any normal standard surrounding wifi, the wifi registration dialogue comes and "error occurred". People with other computers or even my iphone connect without any problem. I wonder what is going on and how to end this annoying problem.
