I have a Mac Mini with file sharing and screen sharing enabled. I've always been able to connect to the shared folders on the Mac Mini from my MBP until this morning. I still see the Mac Mini listed in my MBP's finder and screen sharing still works. But when I tried to connect to the Mac Mini's shared folders, it just says "Connecting" for a long time and then fails.

By the way last night I've updated the Security Update 2013-003 on the MBP.

Anyone?

I'm finding that I am able to connect at times, but it takes a lot longer than it used to be, while other time the connect fails.

I was having the same problem between my mini and MBP. Based on searches at apple support, I re-checked all my network settings on my MBP. That didn't work, so I re-checked all the network settings on my mini, and now it's working.

I also started seeing this once I installed the security update.

Is there anything in particular I need to check for?

I've also already reset both Airport Extreme base stations (one is extending another) that run my network.
