I'm completely at a lose...

I have two computers, a Macbook pro C2D and an iMac CD 17" both running OS X 10.4.8

The Macbook conects no problem with the internet but the iMac won't. I'm connected to the internet by an Airport Extreme, and was connect with out problems until last night when my ISP drop the connection and since them I can't connect with the iMac.

When I go into the Network diagnostics I have green lights for Airport, Airport Settings, Network Settings, and ISP, but red lights for Internet, and Server.

I've messed around with many settings but no luck.

Can anyone help?

could it be a problem with your modem or router? try resetting those (if you have both).

Modem and router work fine

Thank you for your reply.

I have reset the router and the modem and both are working fine as my Macbook Pro connects without any problems. It is frustrating.

On the track
have you tried rebooting the mac?

If you are using airport, have you tried to see it will work plugged in?

Have you tried turning off/on airport

if you router has any security just trying off any security to see if it will connect.

Does your imac even see the router?

If you mean bypassing the Airport and plugging into the modem - that's my next thing to try.

Have you tried turning off/on airport

Yes - as I said my Mac Book Pro connects without problems.

I'll try that as well.

Yep I can turn it on and off from the iMac.

Lots of things to try I guess. Thanks for the help, I'm really new to this. Just one other thing, I did install the latest update to OS X 10.4.8 would have any bearing on this?
