Good morning, there is an icon on the in my dock that won't delete. It is a white icon with a dot underneath it. When I go to drag it to the trash, it will not let me. I cannot force quit either. Any advice, THANKS!

The dot means the app is running - close the app or force close it, then right click as advised - select Remove from dock

What app is it? You should be able to Force Quit it.

The only app I can think of that fits this description is Finder, which is always open and can't be removed from the Dock. Unless it's another app that's giving you a hard time, in which case it should be gone after you log out and back in (edit: make sure to uncheck the option to reopen windows when you log out).
