Can't delete Trojan - please help

Hi there,

I've just installed and ran bitdefender as requested by my bank and it has found three trojans. Two it was able to delete but one of them, it can't.
It's living in /spotlight.

Any clues how I can get rid of this? Screen shot attached.

looks like its a cached file as part of an email? find the offending email (with that attachment) in your inbox/trash would be my best guess. it's not even a mac file (.exe)

It's Windows malware that cannot affect your Mac in any way. It appears it is an attachment to an email, so you should be able to get rid of it by simply deleting the email that it is attached to.

I found the email previously, deleted it, emptied my trash in both Outlook (what a heap of garbage, can't stand Outlook on Mac and it's spinning beachball, any feedback on that appreciated although I've googled through forums until the cows come home for a solution that one!!) and it still finds it.

If it's not even a Mac .exe, then I guess I can relax and not worry about it - correct?

Correct. .exe files are Windows programs, which cannot execute in OS X.

Next time you run Outlook, hit Command (⌘) 7 for a progress window and watch the separate progress window. If it appears to be moving things around or uploading mail it's just downloaded, try this once it finishes...

Right click on the main mail folder in the navigation pane and select "Folder Properties." Under the "General" tab the bottom half of the dialog box will have a warning about emptying your cache. Hit the "Empty" button and see if that fixes it for you.

If you think Outlook is garbage, just be glad you didn't have to suffer through Entourage. Outlook, by comparison, is a gift descended from the heavens on the wings of angels.
